Help → hangs and attachment clipping
With the latest version of popfile I have run into some issues. Firstly it seems to hang when receiving multiple messages. Currently in oulook 2007 I am receiving 38 of 40 messages (113kb of 998kb) and it has been slowly progressing for an hour and a half. Also the user interface webpage is not accessible. I am usually forced to manually download the emails, sometimes closing and restarting popfile remedies the problem. After I restart it seems to do ok receiving small number of messages.
Secondly I have issues with attachments, picture files come through but when I open them in the browser only a quarter to half the picture shows up, some picture viewers won't even view the file. Also pdf files won't open and are listed as corrupted when I try to open them with adobe. These lead me to believe somehow part of the attachment is being lost.
Any suggestions? I have been a long time user of popfile and this upgrade seems to have issues.
If you need any more info let me know
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Are you using POPFile v1.1.0 for Windows?
And which version you've used before upgrading the latest version of POPFile?
Are you using any anti-virus software which scans incoming e-mails?
If so, we recommend you to change POP3 port between your mail client and POPFile.
Some anti-virus software monitors connections using port 110 and if you are using POPFile with default settings, anti-virus software will scan e-mails twice.
As for the problems with attachments, I have no idea.
POPFile does nothing with the attachments.
POPFile uses them to analyze messages, but it won't modify them.

If you are using the Windows version then by default concurrent POP3 connections are disabled which means the UI will not get updated whilst incoming messages are being processed.
If you using POPFile's optional SSL support then concurrent POP3 connections must be disabled on Windows systems.

If you are using the Windows version of POPFile try using the Message Capture utility instead of your normal method for starting POPFile. The Message Capture utility will run POPFile for you and display the console messages in a scrollable window (normally these messages are hidden). It is possible that some clues might appear in the Message Capture utility's window.
The Windows installer creates a Start Menu shortcut for the utility; instructions can be found in the POPFile Message Capture utility page in the wiki.
