remove quarantine

remove
all of s sudden the quarantine feature has gone whacko capturing 2 ordinary messages from "inbox" rated addresses just this week, and yesterday in fact.
So:
How do I remove the quarantine action?

The BUCKETS page in the POPFile User Interface has a "Quarantine Message" check-box for each bucket. To stop POPFile from quarantining messages for a particular bucket, remove the tick from the appropriate check-box and click the "Apply Changes" button.

      Thx!
interesting thing is that the Quarantine was acting on important msg's from senders that were sent on to the the mail client marked inbox, just fine in the previous few days, msg's that are NOT spam,
      and
all the Quarantined except for two or three were NOT spam
      and
only some msg's of any kind were being quarantined letting 100's of spam pass to the mail client NOT quarantined...
      Why is that?

The "quarantine" setting is stored in the database. If you are saying that the "inbox" bucket's quarantine setting changed unexpectedly then it is possible that the database has been corrupted.

By default POPFile uses a SQLite database. If you are using the Windows version of POPFile you can check the database using this Start Menu shortcut:

Start -- All Programs -- POPFile -- Support -- Check database status

If you are using the cross-platform or Mac versions you can use the SQLite command-line utility to check the database. The wiki has more information about this on the Corpus Corruption page.

          Once again...

POPFile's quarantine feature is available for every bucket, including the built-in "unclassified" one. It provides some extra protection for users with email clients which do not offer any control over how messages are previewed.

When "Quarantine Message" is selected for a particular bucket then EVERY email POPFile classifies to that bucket will be quarantined.

If you have created a 'spam' bucket and an 'inbox' bucket then the BUCKETS page will list these two buckets plus the built-in 'unclassified' one. All three buckets will have a "Quarantine Message" option available.

If you select "Quarantine Message" for each bucket then POPFile will quarantine every message it processes.

If you only select "Quarantine Message" for the 'spam' bucket then only messages classified as 'spam' will get quarantined. However if POPFile misclassifies a message as 'spam' (instead of 'inbox') then that message will be quarantined and marked as 'spam'.

POPFile does not quarantine messages because it thinks they are spam. When POPFile quarantines a message it does so because the "Quarantine Message" option has been set for the bucket POPFile has decided to use for this message. If you want to quarantine 'spam' messages you need to set the "Quarantine Message" option for the 'spam' bucket.

See What is the quarantine function?
