Help → Lots of msg files
My popfile install saved a load of msg files in a 00 directory. My hoster complains, that it contains viruses, which might be true. Popfile seems to have sorted them out somehow. Yet, I will have to get rid of them somehow. What would happen if I deleted all those files (all of them not only the "infected" ones)? Will this dumb popfile down? Is there a way to avoid these files to be saved in the first place?

Message #2221
The messages shown in the POPFile User Interface's HISTORY page(s) are stored in a series of nested directories (with no more than 256 messages per directory) for a few days (the default is 2 days but this can be changed using the "History View" section of the CONFIGURATION page in the POPFile User Interface).
The on-line manual has some information explaining how POPFile handles the message history files:
Why is email being kept both in POPFile and in my email program?
How often should I delete the history?
POPFile's history keeps growing and messages are never purged. What's up?
The on-line manual also has more information about how POPFile works.
