Multiple Email Accounts?

I am using Mac Mail 4.2 on a Mac running OS X 10.6.2. I currently have POPFile set up to sort my email from my Mobile Me account. I use Mail to receive messages from my AOL account, as well. Is there any way to set up POPFile to sort the AOL messages and the Mobile Me messages?

    Hi,

    POPFile supports multiple POP3 accounts.
All you have to do is configuring AOL account settings to use POPFile (change the POP3 server name and account settings).

Does it matter that I am using the IMAP module for my MobileMe? account?

Currently POPFile (IMAP module) does not support multiple IMAP accounts.
But you can use POP3 accounts and one IMAP account at the same time.

Still having trouble. I enter the following information:

          MobileMe? is setup as IMAP.

          AOL Account:

          Account Type: POP
          Incoming Mail Server: 127.0.0.1
          User Name: pop.aol.com:clw1178
          Password: unchanged
          Port: 110

          I have tried ports 995, 993, 110, 143

I am using SSL per the instructions for AOL account setup.

When I enable the account, I receive the following error:

There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Verify the settings for account “AOL 2” or try again.

The server returned the error: The connection to the server “127.0.0.1” on port 110 timed out.

          Any suggestions?

I am using SSL per the instructions for AOL account setup.

To use SSL connections you need to install extra SSL modules first.
Have you installed the SSL modules using 'POPFile-addssl-x.x.x-sl.pkg' in the Mac OS X installer?

And then, you need to add ':ssl' suffix to your user name:

            User Name: pop.aol.com:clw1178

In your case, you need to change the User Name to 'pop.aol.com:clw1178:ssl'.

For more information about the SSL support of POPFile, please see:

I am having difficulty finding POPFile-addssl-x.x.x-sl.pkg. (I've also looked for my version, POPFile-addssl-1.1.1-sl.pkg). I have used SSL with my MobileMe? account with no issue, but perhaps that is due to the use of the IMAP module? I honestly do not remember if I ever installed the ssl package.

OK. If you are using IMAP over SSL, you have installed SSL package.
All you have to do is adding ':ssl' after your POP3 account name (User Name) and turning off 'Use SSL' option in the 'Advanced' tab of your AOL account settings (I'm sorry that I've forgotten to mention turning off SSL option of your mail client).

Your POP3 connection will be like this:

                Mail.app -> (POP3 without SSL/110) -> POPFile -> (POP3 over SSL/995) -> Your mail server

Those settings worked fine since the 28th when you posted the reply. Now, I receive the following error:

There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Verify the settings for account “AOL 2” or try again.

The server returned the error: The connection to the server “127.0.0.1” on port 110 timed out.

I have tried 995 in place of 110, to no avail. Current settings are as follows:

                  Incoming Mail Server: 127.0.0.1
                  User Name: pop.aol.com:clw1178:ssl
                  Password: ***********

                  Any suggestions?
