Changes To Incredimail's HOWTO's

According to the following info at http://help.aol.com/help/siteLoginUrl.jsp?url=login&sitedomain=help.aol.com&authLev=1&siteState=OrigUrl%3D%2Fdynamickc.do%3FexternalId%3Dhttp--helpchannelsaolcom-kjumpadparticleId217449%26sliceId%3D%26command%3Dshow%26forward%3DnonthreadedKC%26kcId%3Dhttp--helpchannelsaolcom-kjumpadparticleId217449&lang=en&locale=us&mcAuth=%2FBcAG0fWMx4AAK9PABIh0kfWM1oIEjuLMIKKqVMAAA%3D%3D, I found that AOL/AIM mail can now be configured as POP3 or IMAP. This change makes it easier to receive messages using POPFile if you have multiple accounts. There's a few more changes to other HOWTO's under 'Incredimail', but they're only minor, shouldn't effect configurations, so can wait, I'm sure.
I did have to recently reload all of my email accounts in Incredimail as well as my POPFile configurations for each of the accounts, so it was important to me to update the wiki after doing so, but I could no longer find my way to any 'Show Pages'.
I wanted to change the wiki myself, but if you are no longer accepting public changes to it, let me know and I'll post the new info here and someone can add it in at their leisure. Thanks....

PS: I didn't mean to sound like I wouldn't change the wiki -- I'd be more than happy to make the changes myself when the wiki's ready for that again. :)

Information about POPFile and AOL/AIM mail would surely be interesting for our HOWTO section. But I fail to see the connection to Incredimail.

I originally set up the Incredimail IMAP section for AOL/AIM as it used to be only IMAP, as far as I knew, like this:

      imap.aim.com:Username@AIM.com or imap.aol.com:Username@AOL.com

Now, however, you can set up your account (with Incredimail, anyway) to use POP3 instead and receive more accounts with one instance of POPFile as opposed to only one account with IMAP (right?) like this:

pop.aim.com:Username or pop.aol.com:Username (or Username@AIM/AOL.com, depending on how you sign in)

Also, I've found that while I used to use ports 587 for SMTP and 143 for IMAP, I can now use 587 for SMTP and 110 for POP3.

Don't know how much of a difference it would be for other clients, but since I had more than one AIM/AOL account, it sure was nice to have POPFile watching everything. Plus, I'm a stickler for wording, so hopefully, my original instructions are as understandable to someone else as they were for me. I don't know how long these changes were made available, but I suspect that since they combined AIM/AOL/Netscape, they're trying to keep up with the ease and usability that similar accounts provide. You know what I mean, I hope. I know Yahoo and MSN, for ex., need premium services or other work-arounds to work with POPFile (using Incredimail), but I've had no problems with YPOP and, of course, I already use AIM/AOL, Gmail and HotPOP with Incredimail and POPFile, as well as my ISP's account, too.

If you need anything, just let me know. Now that I've got my accounts back and working again, I'm not far away, OK? Hope this makes AOL accounts easier -- it did mine!
