 +On most systems, for example Linux distros, you must be logged in as root (superuser) to install POPFile.

 +POPFile itself doesn't inherently require any special permissions, but many systems restrict access to ports below 1024 so a running instance of POPFile that uses port 110 for POP3 will require superuser to run.

 +To avoid the need for superuser, you can configure POPFile to listen for POP3 connections on a different higher port, like 1110, and correspondingly make the same change to your mail client.
