MAC OS X SPECIFIC

Mac OS X users should download the cross-platform version of POPFile and unzip to your Library directory. An excellent write up of Mac OS X installation is here.

In addition, you will have to install latest BerkeleyDB from sleepycat.com.

  • Use sudo to perform installation steps.
  • Make sure you do *all* the steps noted in the BerkeleyDB documentation.
  • Install latest BerkeleyDB module from CPAN. You need to modify a line in the config.in file to look for
LIB = /usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.1/lib

instead of

      LIB = /usr/local/BerkeleyDB/lib
  • Again make sure you sudo each step in the installation instructions and do *every* step.
